Cosmic Life Energy is the subtle, intelligent force that animates all living things. It is the breath behind your breath, the spark behind your heartbeat, and the power that moves the tides, opens a flower, and turns the seasons. (click to read more)

Across spiritual traditions and healing sciences, this life force has been honored by many names:
In Christianity, it is the Holy Spirit or the Word of God
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is known as Qi (气) or Yuan Qi
In Yogic philosophy, it is PranaEach culture points to the same truth: life is sustained by a higher energy beyond just the physical.
🌿 The Role of Cosmic Energy in Healing
In every tradition, healing is seen as more than medicine—it is a return to balance, to flow, to divine order.
In the Christian tradition, the healing miracles of Jesus were not just for show; they were promises. He said, “Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing—and even greater.” (John 14:12)
In the 19th century, Mary Baker Eddy, founder of Christian Science, proposed that these healings were not supernatural—but aligned with divine law. In her book Science and Health, she described healing through Right Thinking, or alignment with God’s perfect ideas—what we might now call the flow of Cosmic Life Energy.
In Chinese Medicine, health is defined by the free and balanced flow of Qi through energetic pathways called meridians. When Qi is strong and flowing, the body thrives. When it is weak, blocked, or stagnant, disease sets in.
Over centuries, Chinese medicine mapped the human energy body in remarkable detail—creating a network of meridians and acupoints that are still used in acupuncture, herbal therapy, and self-care practices today. Healing is not imposed—it is restored by releasing what blocks the natural intelligence of life energy.
In Yogic science, Prana is the vital energy carried by breath. Ancient yogis developed techniques—often kept secret—to control prana not only for health, but for spiritual awakening. One of the most complete systems to emerge from this lineage was brought to the West by Paramahansa Yogananda.
🔆 Yogananda’s Life-Force Control: A Modern Approach to Ancient Wisdom
In the early 20th century, Paramahansa Yogananda came to the U.S. with a divine mission: to share the sacred inner science of uniting body, mind, and soul with God. Among his offerings was a set of powerful physical techniques called the Energization Exercises—a system of 38 movements designed to consciously draw cosmic energy into and benefit the entire body.
According to Yogananda:
“The body is a reservoir of infinite strength and life energy, which can be commanded for practically unlimited use by the power of conscious will.”
This cosmic energy enters the body primarily through the medulla oblongata, then flows through the nervous system and is directed by willpower, centered at the spiritual eye—between the eyebrows.
“Will is the great suction pump of energy… which draws cosmic energy into the body to renew it.”
Yogananda’s Energization Exercises are available exclusively through SRFLessons.org, the official site of Self-Realization Fellowship.
